Whole and Broken Glazed Green Cherries

The bright green sweet cherry garnish you remember so well from your youth was originally a candied fruit treat for royalty.  Then it was made available to the masses to garnish their ice creams, dessert plates and whiskey sours. But, if you remember fishing the cherry on the top garnish off your cake, those old-fashioned candied cherries were drippy, stored in a wet syrup.  Not so fun to handle. What we've done now is taken the old-fashioned bright Maraschino cherry garnish and did away with all that gooey moisture. What you get instead is a vivid hued Glace Cherry that has a perfect crunch and chew mixture of textures and a sweet cherry-rich flavor.
